INTRODUCTION TO THE LADY'S ONE-DAY INTERNATIONAL ETIQUETTE COURSE

As the world returns to normal post-pandemic, the opportunities to interact with others from differing cultures have become the norm again. Whether travelling for business or pleasure or welcoming international guests to the UK, it is prudent and respectful to research the customs and traditions before you visit.

The biggest challenge we face nowadays is that many major cities are multicultural; the number of actual natives can be significantly diluted, meaning that you may not always see the rules being honoured.

As with most etiquette, it is beneficial to be educated to choose which rules to follow and adapt them to the situation you find yourself in, ensuring you do not unintentionally commit a faux pas. The saying 'when in Rome, do as the Romans do' is the general rule of thumb, meaning you should adapt to the regulations of the country you visit.

However, when receiving foreign guests to the UK, it is also considerate to show you a basic understanding of their home country's customs and not force them to do something against their religion or make them uncomfortable.

Emma Dupont has conducted extensive research on this topic, and there is often conflicting information on the internet. So, for this course, predominantly diplomatic guidelines have been followed.

WHERE IS THE COURSE HELD?

The course is held at The Emma Dupont School of Etiquette in Albermarle Street in the heart of Mayfair and situated on one of London's most famous and beautiful roads, just moments away from The Ritz Hotel.

There is excellent access to transport links; it is conveniently located within a two-minute walk from Green Park underground station, which offers the Jubilee, Piccadilly, and Victoria Lines. The course begins at 10.30 AM and finishes circa. 5.00 PM.
